G-NiiB GenieBiome officially recognised by the HKSAR Government as one of the Hong Kong’s inaugural New Industrialisation Elite Enterprises
A landmark achievement for G‑NiiB GenieBiome, and a powerful endorsement of our research excellence, growth potential, contribution to Hong Kong's innovation economy and impact on the broader innovation ecosystem.
Today, G‑NiiB GenieBiome was officially named a Hong Kong New Industrialisation Elite Enterprise 2026, an honour awarded by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Selected from more than 100 nominations, G‑NiiB GenieBiome is among only eight enterprises in the inaugural cohort, recognised following a rigorous assessment of research and innovation capability, growth potential, and local contribution and ecosystem impact.
This recognition is far more than an award.
It reflects strong institutional recognition of G‑NiiB GenieBiome's ability to translate world-class science into biotechnology innovation, real-world health solutions and long-term economic value.
G‑NiiB GenieBiome exemplifies the successful transformation of local university research into commercial impact. Our journey connects academic and clinical research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, microbiome R&D and translation through Microbiota I‑Center (MagIC), and real-world application and commercialisation through G‑NiiB GenieBiome.
Our development closely aligns with the vision set out in Hong Kong's First Five‑Year Plan. We will continue to advance microbiome science, translate world-class research into globally relevant health solutions, and help position Hong Kong at the forefront of the rapidly growing life and health technology sector.
We are deeply proud of this recognition and remain committed to transforming world-class research into health solutions with global impact.
